According to Sodiro, the stems of the type of Anthurium marmoratum are known in botany as “appressed”. That simply means the climbing plant grows very close to the tree. The leaf blades are supported on long petioles which can measure between 80 and 100cm in length (2.75 to 3.3 feet).
